General Information

Technical officials are volunteers who are members of the area's swimming clubs. Most officials are parents who have /or have had children in our sport who assist with local club nights and officiating at local meets.

There is a development pathway for our officials from timekeeping at a local club nights through to officiating at the Olympic games and FINA championships. Coast and Valley Swimming Association can organise training for swim clubs and their members throughout the year or members can complete on-line training and ask the ATSC for appointment to apply the skills at a meet and gain experience leading to a competency based practical assessment.  The following courses are available -

• Check Starter

• Marshall

• Timekeeper

• Chief Timekeeper

• Inspector of Turns

• Judge of Strokes

• Recorder

• Referee
